Working Principle: A photoelectric sensor consists of an emitter (which emits light) and a receiver (which detects the light). When the emitted light is interrupted or reflected by an object, it changes the amount of light reaching the receiver. The receiver detects this change and converts it into an electrical output. Types of Photoelectric Sensors: Through-beam Sensors: These sensors have a separate emitter and receiver placed opposite each other. They can detect objects even at long distances (more than 10 meters).Retro-reflective Sensors: These sensors use a retroreflector to bounce the emitted light back to the receiver. They are suitable for detecting objects within a specific range.Diffuse-reflective Sensors:These sensors detect objects by analyzing the light reflected from them. They do not require a separate reflector or retroreflector. Useful for non-metallic objects. Advantages of Photoelectric Sensors: Non-contact Sensing:Objects can be detected without physical contact, minimizing the risk of damage.Color Identification:Different colors reflect or absorb light differently, allowing for color detection. Fast Response Time:Light travels at high speed, resulting in quick detection. High Resolution:Advanced design enables precise position detection and detection of small objects. No Sensing Object Restrictions: Not limited to detecting metal objects; can detect glass, plastic, wood, and liquids. Adjustment: Positioning the sensor beam on an object is straightforward, especially with models that emit visible light.
